1. What religion do you follow? Buddhism. I was raised in Christianity, but after reading the Bible (4 times), I realized it wasn't for me. So I did a lot of research on all different kinds of religions (and non religions, like secular humanism) and I found the most comfort, wisdom, and truth in Buddhism.
2. What religion were you raised as? Congregational Christian
3. Do you believe that forgiveness is a religious property, or a human property? Human.... most definitely human.
4. Do you believe in magic? No... I am way too practical for anything like that.
5. What was the last promise you broke? I can't remember the last promise I made...
6. Do you believe that anyone could be perfect? No. Imperfection is what being human is all about.
7. Did you get everything you wanted over the last holiday season? Greed might be good for the economy, but it's not good for the spirit.
8. Regarding your future, what is the best thing you could hope for? A happy marriage, a happy family, safety, fulfilled needs, peace...
9. Do you let yourself get your hopes up for something even if you know that there is a large chance of failure? I tend to not "get my hopes up". I try to be as realistic as possible.
10. Have you ever bought a lottery ticket? Hah... on my 18th birthday I wouldn't, and my mom gave me a $1 and made me buy one and scratch it off. I think the lottery is a tax on the mathematically impaired.
11. Do you gamble? Occasionally, but never very much. At the boats, I gambled $5 in change on slots, and in Vegas I only gambled about $30 -- $10 in slots, $20 in blackjack.
12. Have you ever had something called off on account of bad weather, but then gone ahead and done it anyway? No. What a strange question. This is a strange survey.
13. What causes do you support? Environmentalism, Gay rights, Education Reform, Assistance Program Reform, Stem Cell Research...
14. What causes have you given money or time to? I give money to the United Way every paycheck, and I have supported other organizations. As far as time, I think it's a lifestyle choice, I buy organic when possible, and educate myself on other topics.
15. Have you ever worked in a soup kitchen or done another kind of outreach for the homeless? I tell the Streetwise homeless guy outside of our train station to have a good night every afternoon.
16. Would you ever consider joining the Peace Corps, Amnesty International, or another travel-inherent worldwide charity group? Maybe, it would take a huge lifestyle change right now, since I'm working 40 hours a week and have other responsibilities.
17. Do you give money to the homeless on the street? I give food, but not money.
18. Have you ever helped out a friend with basic needs, like rent or food? Yes. On countless occasions... Jenni could be a tax write off for me, but that's what happens when you "adopt" a daughter!
19. What's the greatest extent you've gone to help a friend in need? I offered to let one friend who was (and most likely still is) in an abusive marriage to come live with me, rent free, until she could get her feet on the ground.
20. What are you most afraid of? Not living up to the greatness that is within me.
21. What did you do today that was really brave? It's 9 am on a Saturday.... nothing.
22. Who is your favorite super hero, and why? Batman, becuase he's a normal guy who is resourceful and intelligent.
23. Would you put your life in danger to rescue someone? . Depends on who it is. I know that sounds harsh, but I wouldn't risk my life for just anyone.
24. If you were to face the Wizard of Oz, would you want more courage, more brains, or more heart? Heart. I might have an overload on brains. Maybe he could take some of mine...
25. Have you ever gotten stage fright? When I was 7, maybe...at a dance recital. It was the first time I ever actually thought about stage fright. Another girl got it, and it made me realize that I could mess up in front of all those people. I got over it, and went on to perform again.
26. Do you consider yourself to be a leader or a follower? Depends on the situation. I have found in business settings, responsibility for leadership tends to fall in my lap, whether I want it or not.
27. Have you ever been summoned for jury duty? In college. I didn't have to go because I was in college.
28. If they reinstituted the draft (for both genders), would you go, or would find some way out of it? I'd find a way out of it. I believe in peace.
29. Do you support capital punishment (the death penalty)? Yes. Committing crimes is an act of willfully giving up your rights, by taking those rights from another citizen.
30. Which should be guaranteed legal: cocaine, marijuana, heroin? All of them. It would just weed out the people who, again, I'm being blunt, should probably be weeded out. Cocaine and Heroin are powerful, and if you're stupid enough to try them, you deserve the consequences.
31. Do you believe that Dubya is rightfully President of the USA? No. He literally makes me sick.
32. What was your favorite media circus trial? Let's not be so shallow, please...
33. What do you have the hardest time moderating yourself on? Food...that's why I'm fat. Duh.
34. Do you collect anything? Hilariously enough, nativities.
35. Are you addicted to anything? No.
36. Have you ever put anything on layaway or used an installment plan? No.
37. What's your preferred method of paying for things? Debit card.
38. Tell us one thing you wish you hadn't let yourself do: I learn from things, so no experience is wasted.
39. Do you feel that you obsess over things? Most of the time I'm just too busy.
40. Who is the wisest person you know? There's a huge deficit of true wisdom these days.
41. Have you ever participated in a vigil? A prayer vigil when Jeff died.
42. Do you take advice when it's given? Depends on the quality of the advice.
43. What area are you wisest in? Huh?
44. Do you drive defensively? Yeah, most of the time I'm pretty scared.
45. Have you ever had unprotected sex outside of marriage? I'm on the pill and in a monogamous relationship.
46. What did you learn today? That some people actually think forgivness is a religious property, not a human property.
